Roger Cort has over thirty years experience in Corporate Finance, fund raising, mergers, takeovers and acquisitions in the UK, Europe and the USA, during which period he has been involved in some 200 takeovers and mergers and over 50 corporate fund raisings.  In 1982, he joined Henry Ansbacher & Co Limited, to be Head of Corporate Finance under Patrick Spens as Managing Director; and together they transformed Henry Ansbacher’s corporate finance activities, resulting in the company being included in the list of top Corporate Finance Houses for the first time in 1986.  In the summer of 1987, Roger left Henry Ansbacher to set up Amethyst Investments Limited as a Corporate Finance and Investment boutique, during which time he advised the Zimbabwean Ministry of Finance on three major nationalisation projects and completed a number of takeovers and fund raisings.  In 1994, he became a Director of The Carlyle Consultancy Limited, a London based consultancy specialising in the shipping industry. This operated in parallel with his Chartered Accountancy practice which he had set up in 1993 to specialise in the Corporate Finance advisory and venture capital business.  This latter business led to the formation in September 1998 of Patrick Spens & Co Limited, a London-based administrative and investment company with Patrick Spens.  In January 1999, Roger joined with Christopher Shaw to develop the Corporate Finance business of both companies in the mergers and acquisitions field.
